Hundreds of Fines Issued As Dubai Beaches Reopen

Last Updated on March 18, 2021 by livelydubai

Dubai police said they had issued around 100 fines in 3 days (that is since the beaches reopened) for people who did not follow the precautionary measures. As a reminder, the wearing of a mask and respect for social distancing are compulsory on Dubai beaches which have reopened their doors to the public.

Indeed, and since last Friday, the beaches of JBR, Al Mamzar, Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim have welcomed residents and visitors again but under certain conditions which must be respected. For this purpose, Dubai police, in cooperation with the Municipality, deployed their patrols on these beaches.

These patrols also found that, despite a partial reopening in terms of compliance with the measures, the measures were rather well followed by the public. The police also takes advantage of these patrols to raise awareness, either by distributing masks or by recalling good practices. Note that the fines which apply in the event of non-compliance with these measures are 3,000 AED.
