Dubai Tourism Sector Adds 9000 Hotel Rooms in 10 Months

Despite Covid-19, Dubai tourism industry is growing

From January to October 2021, Dubai’s tourism sector added 9,032 new hotel rooms ranging from one to five stars, with expansion plans continuing despite the hurdles posed by “Covid-19.”

According to the data, Dubai hotels grew their capacity by 9% in the first ten months of 2021, reaching 109.7 thousand hotel rooms at the end of October 2021, up from 100.7 hotel rooms at the end of December 2021.

Since the beginning of this year, Dubai has added 30 hotels ranging from one to five stars, increasing the total to 550.

The data indicated that the most hotel openings occurred in the four-star category, with 3950 new rooms added to this category.

Dubai added 1,712 hotel rooms in the five-star category and 3,369 hotel rooms in the one-to-three-star category.

By the end of October 2021, Dubai will have 45,779 5-star rooms, 38,856 4-star rooms, and 25,101 1-3-star rooms.

Dubai witnessed the opening of ten hotel facilities during the first month of Expo 2020 Dubai, bringing the total number of hotel facilities, including hotel residences, to 736 by the end of October 2021.
