Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, registration has been opened to attend the 72nd edition of the International Space Conference hosted by the UAE, for the first time in the Arab world since its launch in the year 1950, which is organized by the International Space Union in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center from 25 to 29 October 2021 at the World Trade Center in Dubai.
Yousef Hamad Al-Shaibani, Director-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, said: “The success of the UAE in hosting the International Space Conference within one decade since the start of the country’s activity in the space sector is a cause for pride and an affirmation of our commitment to keeping pace with the latest developments and the scientific research community. In turn, Salem Al Marri, Assistant Director-General for Scientific and Technical Affairs at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and Chair of the Committee for Hosting the International Space Conference, said: “The conference will accelerate the growth of the sector in the region, in addition to being a unique platform to enrich the knowledge and empowerment of the current and future generations of young people. In important fields such as space science and technology, engineering, and mathematics. ”
Commenting on the UAE’s hosting of the conference, Pascal Ehrenfreund, President of the International Space Union said: “We are happy to organize the 72nd edition of the conference for the first time in the Arab world and in the UAE, and we look forward to enriching knowledge and exchanging experiences with our colleagues to provide solutions and confront the challenges facing in Space industry and humanitarian sector ».
